    Laser Cat Rocks!

Lola's Lab helped sponsor Laser Cat, DC art making time at the FIRST EVER Laser Cat Kids Show! Kids and Parents made fuzzy cat ears together from recycling, we made giant bubbles in the dance hall under the watchful eye of Laser Cat and Lola's pal Debbi Mezzetta, painted cat faces galore!

Here's how it all went down: Weeks before, Lola skyped with Laser Cat artists in Barcelona Spain about what to do at the Laser Cat Kids Show. Then Lola got to the scene early and met with Killian Cooper from Hungy Castle to discuss the day and watch the big cat head inflate and be installed with Giant laser beams. It was the COLDEST DAY ON RECORD. The hall was not heated so early in the day. It was 4 degrees inside!! BRRRRR....

Saturday, we got our volunteer tweens dressed up early and we loaded in to the tent. Did I mention it started SNOWING!?!? But nothing stopped our awesome volunteers from Lola's Lab and from the Washington Project for the Arts.

Lot's of families came out dspite the snow to a fantastic day!  As we made fuzzy cat ears in the tent we also took to the dance hall for some giant bubble making. You see, lately we have been totally into the bubble making since it's an activity we'll do in our Captain Kaleidoscope Camp this summer and in the upcoming Mardi Gras in March/St. Pat's Parade.

We took photos with Killian. Killian and Dave take Lasser Cat all around the world!

At night, the Laser Cat blasted artworks which were fed to the cat (emailed in from the public). People danced under the lasers, watching the art to the beat of the DJ'S. Below, see Lola at night with the 20 ft. tall cat head.

As Lola was deliting in watching lot's of awesome public art, all of a sudden, she saw her very own art above the cat! That is Lola's painting "Sudden Enoucnter,"in the photo below. She snapped this photo but noticed something was different and something was moving "on" her art! The laser Cat team animated the painting wth a little guy yelling rainbows. Woah!

We worked all day and danced all night! Happy! Happy!
Time for a cat nap, Laser Cat!

    P.S.

....And after that....time to clean up Lola's messy, messy house...hahah!

ART MESS IS GOOD MESS! COME MAKE SOME WITH LOLA'S LAB!

P.S.S. That is the original painting "Sudden Encounter" above the fireplace...
